The Cat 5e Junction Box punch-down junction box can be used for connecting two Cat5e Ethernet cables together without the use of connectors and couplers. Multiple connectors and couplers are convenient for temporarily splicing two Cat5e cables together. However, the junction boxes are best used for permanent connections because the punch-down connection provides secure continuity.
